The different sub specialties in internal medicine are surgical, medical and diagnostic specialties. The surgical specialty deals with the operative technique to treat disease. Medical specialty deals with the diagnostic and treatment of diseases through medicine. Diagnostic specialty focuses only on the diagnosis of the disease and their cause. The salary of these physicians is based on different factors like geographical location, experience and the organization. Annual salary of the physicians practicing internal medicine ranges from $45,200 to $53,170 depending on above mentioned factors. The physicians are given book allowance of about $100 during every residency which they may use it for purchasing software and other electronic equipments for educational use.
